We had full replacement coverage through Allied Insurance.

In June, we experienced large hail damage (and wind and rain) to our roof. We woke up to rain coming into our house and garage. We immediately contacted Allied who sent the insurance adjuster, Ephraim.

This bozo claimed that our shingle damage came from us walking on our roof. Like we get out and walk on our roof! He gave us a 1% shingle repair and insisted what we had was normal wear and tear. He could not and would not explain how we got quarter-sized holes in our protective valleys and why our roof did not leak until we after the large hail storm.

If we want to contest this, we have to pay for the arbitrator and court costs!

Monetary Loss: $10000.

Location: Denver, Colorado

Brand New Motorcycle parked in garage for storage. Bike was stolen Allied denied the claim.

They are not good people at Allied theft should have been covered under personal property.

But they claim motorized vehicels are not personal property. If they are not personal property what are they.

Motorized vehicles are never covered under a homeowner's policy. Read your policy. Your motorcycle should have been written on a motorcycle policy.

We just got a letter in the mail of non-renewal because we do not have steps on our back 2 sliders and no safety features on our trampoline. We've never paid late (paid through our mortgage) and been a customer for 10 years.

The house has not changed any and we've never had a claim. We have been shopping around and the policy is over $800 more a year.

Same thing here, major storm damage in the entire area last summer. I am still fighting with Allied six months later.

Apparently, they had an "engineer" to look at my property, with neither my knowledge or permission. Now they're denying the majority of my claim for various reasons.

I have been FLAT OUT LIED TO by my adjuster. Looking at legal recourse...

Sara......similar situation...but this is eight years later....Allied denied, delayed....i.e would not addresss my specific questions in letters I sent to them...

the claim was from wind storm/water intrusion/water damage

...straight line wind storm created water intrusion in gable of houise...rain and snow over a period of time blew in and landed on floor of attic....permeated the wood joists/ insulation and plaster ceilng of the bedroom ceiling below.....

Estimator gave $376 estimate.(deductible $500) ...treated ceiling cracks as if stress/ surface....did not even address water damage on attic floor

Adjuster blatantly refused to acknowledge the moisture intrusion

..."he couldn't see it" obviously I had it repaired ASAP upon discovery......

Adjuster says no moisture source , no coverage....but refuses out and out....to take down name of roofer/repairman to verify information needed to determine coverage.....Took me aback Eventually I set up a three way call between him and the roofer.. adjuster conceded liability at that point.... but underestimated by about $9,000...... I took legal recourse myself...it's been tough, but I won I refuse to let them take advantage of me or anyone else....

I am now interested ..

compiling information for a state agency.......Most lawyers arent' interested if not a large judgment......that's what I found out That's why researched it myself..... My email is sarahsullivan30@***.com if interested let me know.

just got a letter in the mail from my allied homeowners insurance....i have been with allied for 17 years, never had a claim, never paid late. we just replaced our roof this winter with a nice new metal roof and actually did get a discount of $50 from allied because of a better fire safety standard...today they are cancelling our insurance as of july 2011 because:"There have been physical changes in the insured property which result in the property becoming UNACCEPTABLE."

I WILL TRY TO FIND OUT IF THERE ARE ANY CLASS ACTION SUITS AGAINST ALLIED INSURANCE WHICH I CAN JOIN. please inform me if you know of any...we consumers need to fight back.....a new roof (over$7000 value) is "a unacceptable risk" to allied insurance!

have had Nationwide/Allied homeowners insurance for 13 years, have never made a claim, always paid on time and have never complained when my rates go up every year. This year they are not renewing my policy and cant give me a straight reason why. $13,000 well spent, hope you guy enjoy spending the money I gave you for free, I will tell everyone I can that this company will do nothing but steal your money.

P.S.

Folks, stay FAR FAR AWAY from Nationwide/Allied Insurance.....they are actually scam artists.

Have had Allied/Nationwide for about 35 years...month ago back fence blow down during severe wind storm.....Fellow from De Moines ((on the phone - not in person!) says they'll cover 4 'posts' and my existing fence needs to be 're-hung on the new posts??? I live in Santa Rosa, CA., not one fence contractor will 'rehang 'old' fence' or tear apart fence & use old wood.

De Moines, (head office) sent a guy from Texas to investigate: He got on roof, took pics of entire house, side yard, trees, gutters, any and every nook & cranny, then the fence (huh?) Stated fence was ok, just needs to be rehung on new posts???? NO ONE in my area does fences in that manner...still waiting for some type of normal person to talk to from this company...

I guarantee you, I'm looking for new insurance company....this is nuts....I pay extra for full replacement costs....what is this?
